Mode Moderne specializes in mid-century furniture and objects and has been located in Old City since 1992.  Mike started buying in the late 1980's to furnish his own home and was always amazed at how affordable some of this stuff was.  In 1990 he started to sell in a couple of antique malls and flea markets.  In 1992, he took the plunge and opened a store in Old City. At the time, Old City was still populated by older businesses, including a harness shop right next door that dated to the 1860's.  In the beginning, people would buy to recreate an entirely 1950's room, now people buy to mix and match with old and new.
