Image details

The Modern Prospects: Science Hill tour will explore a collection of lesser-known but equally significant modern structures on the Yale Campus.

The Modern Prospects Tour starts on Prospect Street. Meet outside Woolsey Hall at the intersection of Prospect and College Streets at 5:00pm. Arrive through Beinecke Plaza or along the street. We will depart from the steps.

Projects by Eero Saarinen & Associates, Paul Rudolph, Philip Johnson, and Marcel Breuer will be complemented by the narratives of how they came to be and how they impacted Yale President A. Whitney Griswold’s vision for the campus ultimately making Yale the Ivy League institution with the largest and most varied collection of Modern buildings in the country.  These projects represent a range of public, semi-public and private structures that reveal Yale’s interaction with the city itself.

Guide: The tour will be led by Sean Khorsandi, executive director of LANDMARK WEST! and Docomomo US New York/Tri-State board member.
