Join us at Cedar Lane Unitarian Universalist Congregation for a unique architectural tour celebrating the rich legacy and vibrant renewal of our 6+ acre wooded campus in Bethesda, Maryland. Originally completed in 1958 and designed by a local firm with guidance from renowned architect Pietro Belluschi, Cedar Lane underwent a transformative renovation in 2024 that honored the integrity of the original architecture while enhancing accessibility, sustainability, and community gathering spaces for the 21st century. This guided tour is led by Cedar Lane member and author Mary Means, who is best known for leading the team that created the National Main Street Center, now known as Main Street America. This tour will take you through the historic intentions of the design, the challenges and triumphs of the renovation process, and the beautifully revitalized spaces now welcoming a new generation.
