As a preview to our in-person tour, Docomomo US/Chicago is presenting a virtual tour of other modern sacred spaces in the Chicagoland region. Highlights include a soaring concrete synagogue by Minoru Yamasaki; a space-age take on traditional Ukrainian religious architecture; one of Chicago's most photogenic churches (and Accidentally Wes Anderson favorite); and other lesser-known gems.
The talk is presented by the Docomomo US/Chicago Program Committee. Speakers include Craig Brandt, FAIA, Docomomo US/Chicago chair; Marcy Dinius, professor of English and American Studies at DePaul University; Patrick Steffes, co-founder of Forgotten Chicago; and Justin Miller, architectural historian at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
