Vaidas Petrulis, Ph.D., is an architectural historian and researcher at Kaunas university of Technology in Lithuania. I have been a member of ICOMOS ISC20C since 2008 and Head of the Working Group on 20th century built heritage of the Baltic Sea Region Heritage Committee since 2018. He is a member of the Lithuanian National Commission for Cultural Heritage since 2022. Mr. Petrulis interned at ICCROM in Rome in 2017 and will do long term research in US in 2023 funded by Baltic-American Freedom Foundation. His research interests include the history and theory of 20th century architecture. He is the author or co-author of a number of monographs, books, articles, and presentations at international and local conferences. Mr. Petrulis also has led research projects in the field of architectural history and heritage conservation, such as the "Conservation Management Plan for the Military Research Laboratory in Kaunas" supported by The Getty Foundation. He is also the initiator and co-author of www.autc.lt, a digital archive of Lithuanian architectural history. He is a collaborator of Kaunas European Capital of Culture Kaunas2022 (program "Modernism for the Future"). Mr. Petrulis gives public lectures and participate in radio and TV promoting the history and heritage of modernist architecture.
