Sarah Sojung Yoon is from Colorado and spent most of her academic career studying architectural design and architectural conservation/preservation. She completed her undergraduate studies in Environmental Design – Architecture from the University of Colorado Boulder and received her Masters in Architecture from Korea University in 2010. After her studies in Seoul, she became interested in architectural conservation/preservation and went back for another Masters in Historic Preservation from Columbia University. For her thesis, she focused specifically on 20th century architecture and did an in-depth study of the composite cladding material thin stone veneer-faced precast concrete panels. After completing her degree in 2016, she was accepted to the Graduate Intern program at the Getty Conservation Institute and is now working on the Conserving Modern Architecture Initiative (CMAI) that deals specifically with 20th century architecture.
