The Glass House, built between 1949 and 1995 by architect Philip Johnson, is a National Trust Historic Site located in New Canaan, Connecticut. The pastoral 49-acre landscape comprises fourteen structures, including the Glass House (1949), and features a permanent collection of 20th-century painting and sculpture, along with temporary exhibitions.

As part of Tour Day 2024, The Glass House is generously offering a discount on its "Extended Tour" to Docomomo members. The Extended Tour affords time to visit Philip Johnson’s Studio, as well as The Glass House, the newly restored Brick House, Painting Gallery, Sculpture Gallery, outdoor sculpture, and Da Monsta. This tour includes a one-mile walk on paths and grass and an up-close view of the installation Shigeru Ban: The Paper Log House.

Participants must be able to climb hills of moderate grade and stand for extended lengths of time. We regret that visitors using wheelchairs or scooters are not permitted on this tour.

The tour will be led by Kate Lichota, Manager of Education and Interpretation for The Glass House.
