Docomomo US/Oregon is planning a group excursion to the Oregon Coast to explore the resort community of Salishan. Developed in the 1960s, Salishan extends along a narrow strip of land between Siletz Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The central feature of the development is Salishan Coastal Lodge, a landmark of Northwest Regional modernism designed by architect John Storrs in collaboration with landscape architect Barbara Fealy. The event will include an educational program at the lodge, an opportunity to walk the grounds, and special access to one of the area's midcentury beachfront homes.
