Wilson House

Site overview

The first mid-century modern house in Temple, the Wilson House derives broader significance from the extensive and exuberant use of plastic laminate throughout its interior. Built for Ralph and Sunny Wilson of Wilsonart International, the house served as their residence as well a model home for the company and to test products Wilsonart manufactured. Owned by Wilsonart International, it was restored to its 1950s appearance and currently operates as an archive/interpretive museum on laminate.
