Site overview

Situated on a rolling countryside dotted with trees, this sprawling rural headquaters for Deere & Company was Saarinen's last major commission. The large complex is constructed of gold-tinted mirrored glass and a steel alloy. The frankly exposed structure also incorporates a brise soleil (sun screen). The Administrative Center is linked to the other buildings by a system of bridges straddling the end of a lake. A visitor's center at the lobby level is open to the public.
