Docomomo US is pleased to support our friend organization North Carolina Modernist Houses' newest venture: USModernist Radio – a podcast that aims to explore the many facets of Modern architecture. Created by Modernist Houses founder George Smart, the podcast is described as “fun and sometimes irreverent” and features “interesting and expressive people who enjoy, own, create, dream about, preserve, love, and hate modernist architecture.”
The first eight episodes are available online and include guests such as movie star Kelly Lynch, architecture critic Paul Goldberger, esteemed real estate agent Crosby Doe, preservationist Christine Madrid French, and architect Milton Small III.
Future episodes include an insider perspective of Eero Saarinen and Richard Nuetra with Susan Saarinen and Raymond Nuetra, a discussion with filmmaker Nathaniel Kahn with Alexandra Lange on architect Louis Kahn, and architect Gene Kaufman and his proposal to redevelop Paul Rudolph’s Orange County Government Center.
Listeners can subscribe to the podcast and receive new episodes every two weeks through iTunes or online.
