In the 1950s and ‘60s, when urban renewal was dramatically changing New Haven’s public face, architects and clients also quietly inserted Modernist buildings into areas not directly affected by renewal, weaving them into the city’s historic fabric. This tour, led by Charlotte Hitchcock and Christopher Wigren of the New Haven Preservation Trust, will sample Modernist works in the Saint Ronan-Edgehill neighborhood, including private homes and neighborhood institutions.
