Many airports have responded to demands of capacity, security, business opportunities and new technologies through demolition of existing terminals and construction of new facilities. Newark Liberty International Airport’s Terminal B redevelopment represents a unique case study of an operating airline terminal’s successful response to multiple changes over a 42-year life span; a redevelopment that has enabled the facility to be viable for several decades to come.
