Docomomomo US/WEWA will host a tour of the Basher | Foster House in Lake Forest Park, Washington. The property is an excellent example of a remarkably intact mid-century modern house located in a unique suburb planned around a woodland setting. Aptly named “The Glass House” by the original owners, Philip and Ingletta Basher, the home was designed by Glenn Mattson of the firm, Warren & Mattson, and completed in 1960. The house has been well-maintained and respectfully updated; its exterior and interior retains much of its original configuration and materials.
Participants are invited to view this fantastic residence, meet the current owners, and engage with Docomomo US/WEWA Board members and docents to learn more about the organization’s recent efforts in preservation advocacy and upcoming programs.
Interior photographs are allowed. If there is rain during the event, you may be asked to remove shoes or wear shoe covers (provided).
Docomomo US and the Western Washington chapter express their thanks to the current owners, Jeff and Anne Foster, for opening up their home.
Docomomo US/WEWA's programs are partially funded through a 4Culture Preservation Sustained Support Grant.
