Old Arlington
Date/Time Saturday, October 8, 2011
The tour will begin with some talks and coffee at the Unitarian Universalist Church, designed by Robert Broward, who early in his career worked with Frank Lloyd Wright. It will then visit a number of houses in the Arlington neighborhood; an area which developed rapidly in the 1950's after a bridge was erected, connecting it with downtown Jacksonville, FL. Other houses on the tour will include possibly the best-preserved example of Taylor Hardwick's early work, and a totally original house by William Marshall which was constructed using redwood and Cemesto (a material developed during WWII), two waterfront residences designed by Mr. Broward, and a recently renovated 1966 house designed by William N. Morgan. An afternoon session will revisit the former Ford Motor Company assembly plant designed by Albert Kahn on the other side of the St. Johns River.
Registration Participants will receive a brochure documenting the buildings and their designers.

Morning tour: $10
Afternoon Ford event: $5
