Image details

Don Worth was a co-founder of Friends of Miami Marine Stadium, the original group established in 2008 to advocate for the Stadium restoration. He presently remains involved in all aspects of the Stadium restoration efforts and is a co-founder of the current advocacy group Restore Marine Stadium.

Don has received the Peter S. Brink Award from the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the Henriette Harris award from Dade Heritage Trust for his work on the Stadium. Previously, Don and his wife Nina developed a series of architectural exchanges with Shanghai which resulted in the publication of the book Art Deco in Shanghai and Miami Beach. In 2002, he led an effort to create a photography exhibit of the mid-century architecture of Miami and New York which was exhibited in both Miami and at the Municipal Art Society in New York City. These exhibitions and subsequent publications were instrumental in making the term MiMo (Miami Modernism) part of our lexicon.
