On Friday, October 6th, Docomomo US and a diverse group of professionals passionate about architecture and design came together to celebrate the Modernism in America Awards.

The event celebrated exceptional preservation efforts by nine winning projects and touched on the importance of passionate owners and clients dedicated to finding sensitive solutions; the role advocacy plays for future campaigns even when a building is lost; and put a spotlight on significant works of regional architects and designers.

As modern architecture continues to age and face threats of demolition or insensitive restoration, the Modernism in America Awards seeks to recognize that modern architecture and design can be preserved in a meaningful and productive way that enhances the presence and value of it in its respective communities.
