On February 24, Docomomo US/Greater Philadelphia welcomed Docomomo International Chair Ana Tostoes to Philadelphia with a reception at the Esherick House, designed by Louis Kahn and completed in 1961. Board member, Dan Macey and husband, Paul Savidge, who own the house, graciously opened their home to board members and other Kahn homeowners for a festive soiree. Dantastic Food provided the delicious Kahn-inspired appetizers. Board member Ben Leech’s hand drawn illustrations of important Kahn buildings embellished the inventive food label. For example, guests enjoyed scrumptious Yale Center for British Art Meat Pies, Exeter Library Maple Bacon, and Kimbell Art Museum Texas Caviar. kYODER design was responsible for the careful restoration and renovation of the Esherick House and received a Citation of Merit during the 2016 Modernism in America Awards.
