This summer, students of the Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, Jennifer Whisenhunt and Mary Park joined Docomomo International as editors for the International Specialist Committee on Education and Theory (ISC E+T).

Jennifer and Mary were able to attend their first Docomomo International Conference in Finland through scholarships provided by the Finlandia Foundation. At the conference, they presented the activities of the ISC E+T for the past two years and discussed expectations for the upcoming year. Jennifer and Mary met numerous committee members, speakers and attendees and developed relationships that can help foster future partnerships.

The Docomomo ISC E+T is one of the four committees of Docomomo International. It concentrates on the unquestionable and fundamental relationship between education, theoretical approaches, and the preservation of the modern movement.

The ISC E+T is currently in the midst of composing the first newsletter for the 2012-2013 academic year. The theme will address the Docomomo International Conference in Finland, the goals for the upcoming year and the role of students at the future Docomomo conference in Seoul, Korea 2014.
