On the weekend of April 16th, the Docomomo U.S. Board convened for its annual “face-to-face” meeting in Boston, Massachusetts. The gathering was organized by members of the New England Chapter and meetings were hosted in the Cambridge office of Bruner-Cott & Associates. The 2-day session focused on a review of the U.S. organization’s operational mission and strategies.

Peter McMahon, Executive Director of the Cape Cop Modern House Trust, presented the group’s successful development and joined the Board for a discussion on regional issues affecting advocacy for heritage of the modern movement.

The Docomomo U.S. development plan for the upcoming year includes communication initiatives to benefit members and chapters, while strengthening connections with affinity groups. The Docomomo U.S. website will continue to be enhanced to improve news distribution, user access, and eventually foster interaction among members through the incorporation of social networking features. As well, the Docomomo U.S. Online Register continues to have properties added to its inventory, as well as new mapping and graphic content. In preparation for the upcoming Docomomo 11th International Conference in Mexico City, the U.S. Board is making plans to convene attending Docomomo U.S. members at an event during the conference schedule. Please stay tuned for details.
