This will be a unique opportunity to visit two residences designed by George Wimberly of Wimberly & Cooke. First will be the house that Wimberly designed in 1945 for his own family which he conceived as open flowing spaces with attention to cross ventilation for comfort in a tropical climate. Next is a Japanese style pavilion house that is set in a lush private garden with views across the Manoa Valley. Because both houses are accessed via uneven exterior stairs, this tour is not appropriate for those with limited mobility.
You must be registered for the Hawaii Symposium to sign up for this tour. Guests can add tours during the registration process or later via links found in the registration confirmation email. Individual tickets will be made available to those not registered for the Symposium six weeks prior to the event.
