Dallas Architecture Forum announces new season, opens Oct. 1

The Dallas Architecture Forum is pleased to announce its 14th season.  One film, six lectures plus three special lectures in collaboration with the opening of the Dallas Center for Performing Arts, two symposia, its 365 Modern Home Reception series, an engaging Panel Series focused on issues impacting Dallas, and special members’ only events will make up the season.

Florida - Rudolph's Riverview High School Demolished

    Docomomo US is sad to report the loss of Paul Rudolph's 1958 Riverview High School in Sarasota, Florida.  Rudolph's first public building in Florida, the school district owned site was leveled on June 13th despite the vocal opposition of architects and preservation organizations.  For the complete article from Joyce Owens click here.  Additional images can be found here.

Julius Shulman, Photographer of Modernist California Architecture, Dies at 98

Julius Shulman, a renowned architecture photographer who depicted modern houses as the ultimate expressions of modern living and helped idealize the California lifestyle in the postwar years, died Wednesday at his home in Los Angeles. He was 98.
