Participate in the worldwide effort to identify, record and preserve architecture and urban design of the Modern Movement. Docomomo US is an all-volunteer group comprised of enthusiasts, historians, architects, designers, students, and preservationists. We are an organization that is rapidly growing, with regional chapters throughout the country and several more in formation. Docomomo US is proud to be frequently cited in the professional and general press as the initiator of the current interest in the recent past within the US preservation movement and among the general public. We serve an interdisciplinary constituent base, including those interested in design, architecture, urbanism, landscape and history.

MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS BY LEVEL

Domestic Membership (Includes Docomomo US and local chapter membership)

Individual Domestic members receive the Docomomo US e-news briefs, discounts to US and regional tours, lectures and events, including the International Conference, discounts on Docomomo US publications, and membership in a regional chapter.

Student membership is available for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students to join Docomomo US at a reduced rate. Student membership benefits include all individual membership benefits, as well as the opportunities to submit a Docomomo US fiche, be published in the Docomomo US Modern Building Register, submit articles for publication in the Docomomo US Newsletter, apply for Docomomo US Student Scholarships to participate in Docomomo's biannual International Design Conference and Student Workshop, apply for Docomomo US and national chapter internships. To apply for student membership, please include a copy of a valid student ID, school email address and date of graduation with the membership form.

Student membership is available for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students to join Docomomo International at a reduced rate. Friend Organization
Docomomo US recognizes that there are a number of regional organizations in the United States which share Docomomo US’s mission and values. Becoming a Friend Organization offers a means to enhance communication and cooperation between an organization, their members and Docomomo US.

Established regional, non-profit organizations with missions relating to historic preservation (especially of the modern movement), architecture and design, landscape architecture, or urban planning are eligible for consideration as a Friend Organization. Friend Organization status is subject to the approval of Docomomo US.

Friend Organizations receive all of the benefits of Institutional Membership, plus they may offer Domestic Docomomo US membership to their own members at 50% of Docomomo US Individual Membership dues (currently USD 55.00). Organizations will receive recognition as Friend Organizations on the Docomomo US website and in newsletters, with links to their own websites. Friend Organizations are encouraged to create a “Docomomo US Committee”, or similar entity, to encourage communication and activities among members interested in preservation of modern architecture and places, with Docomomo US and other Docomomo US Chapters and/or to designate a liaison officer/person. Friend Organizations are encouraged to submit news and announcements of events related to the shared interests and objectives to the Docomomo US newsletter and participate in Docomomo US national activities, including the annual Tour Day event.
