This holiday season, the Municipal Arts Society of New York City hosts a walking tour of the mid-century modern architecture of Manhattan's east side. The tour takes place at a time when New York City is considering an ambitious and controversial rezoning of Manhattan's central business district, from 39th to 57th Streets. Lead by architectural historian Matt Postal, the tour starts from the north and will compare masterpieces and minor works that include set-back and slab-style office buildings designed by leading firms such as: Emery Roth & Sons, Kahn & Jacobs, and Skidmore Owings & Merrill.
